Joseph has a deep-rooted sense of justice tracing back to his upbringing. Raised in Redfern, he entered criminal law after having seen and experienced many injustices, such as the death of TJ Hickey in 2004. To give back to where he came from, Joseph runs Australian Criminal Law Group’s Community Partnership, which in the past 12 months (as of March 2024) has provided pro bono legal representation to more than 30 clients, as well as sponsoring sporting teams including the First Nations Warriors who took 30 Indigenous teenagers to Thailand for the International Rugby World 10’s and Redfern All Blacks.
